In 2010, aTm was ranked in the 70s in points per game and much lower in yards per game on defense. Von Miller turned out to be okay. Auburn's defense wasn't much better, but Nick Farley is okay.
LSU had the #3 defense that year. Patrick Peterson is awesome. But Kelvin Sheppard, Drake Nevis, and Pep Livingston haven't really lit up the NFL.
I see what you are saying, but I don't think it's definitive on who someone will turn out in the NFL.
