Just throwing my $0.02
When I went to the Apple Store, the sales person pulled out his calculator and compared the price for NEXT versus buying the phone out right and signing up for service. There was no difference .

What is the most data that you have used in a month?
AT&T throttles the unlimited plan. You're unlikely to use over 15gb/month for 2 people
