St. Francisville is way more Protestant than New Roads, that's for sure.
FIFY. New Roads and the False River area is pretty.

Also I think a good portion of the Mississippi coast is more like Louisiana than the rest of Mississippi
This is true. The Mississippi gulf coast is almost tolerable.

Even within the Cajuns, there is a divide between Prairie Cajuns and Bayou Cajuns (Lafayette being the cultural crossroads between the two).
The Atchafalaya has usually been considered the boundary between the East and West Acadians. And if there is a cultural crossroad it is Morgan City, because the traditional route to get east and west passed here not across the north part of the river until much later.

What about Franklin, LA? Where are they considered?

If you look at the early settlement patterns and geneologies of the Acadians they initially settled on Bayou Teche, Bayou Lafourche and the Mississippi River. Those that settled on Bayou Teche ended up moving west onto the prairie. The ones that settled on the Mississippi River and Bayou Lafourche tended to intermarry and also marry into the German Coast Families but the Atchafalaya was a major geographic boundary between the two groups. Franklin is on the Teche so it is West Acadiana.
