I find the Rob Lowe commercials amusing but that doesn't make them any less tasteless. 
The DirecTV response tells you all you need to know. They consider the commercials so ridiculous that they don't feel the claims should require validation but I think they are likely giving most consumers too much credit. Bottom line: satellite TV is an inferior product to cable TV. As such the satellite TV companies pretty much have to lie and offer discount prices to attract consumers.

Uh no. I may be part of the cord cutters right now. However, I've had cable TV and directv. The product directv puts out is leaps and bounds better than charter TV.
