I´m not a big fan of the genre
I think you dont necessarily have to be a huge fan of scifi to enjoy the movie, but it helps. I was raised with them, and I thoroughly enjoyed this film, especially the second viewing. Could it have been made better? Absolutely. Viewing the huge thread about interstellar, and this one, there are tons of different opinions on what it should have been, but to me, Nolan illustrated it perfectly. The score was outstanding. The acting in a general sense, with what they were given, was good. Was it a masterpiece? No. But he barely missed.

Like I said, from posts and the odd review blurb, I understood Interstellar to be up there for movie of the year type stuff, potentially transcendental of Close Encounters of The Third Kind calibre.
Again, my expectations may have seriously skewed my experience.
Reflecting a bit, I could see where this may be a bit more enjoyable the second time around. A bit.
