I think Hathaway is a horrible actress.

While I think she is somewhat overrated, she held her own in this film. MM was great, Chastain was great, Foy was great, Damon has a tough time with unlikeable characters (like in The Departed), but he delivered well enough - particularly the awakening scene, Sir Michael was consistent (as he always has been) - the voice actors for the robots were excellent.

While I didn't find any performance particularly outstanding (maybe Chastain and Foy) - I found the acting par or better for a film of this scope.

I'm going to watch it again, soon, and try to be objective on Hathaway's "love" speech, but on first viewing, in the moment, I thought it was fine - the placement of it was a little awkward and forced, but that's on Nolan - but, overall, I didn't see the glaring flaws that many others (you're not alone) did.

Yeah, much was forced and awkward.

I agree

Anyway, I would at first glance say my expectations were possibly too high or even out of whack, but people whose taste differs tremendously from mine, were really, really taken aback with this movie, as well.
