Make sure it's unloaded and it should be fine in a carry-on. Don't bring it up, but if they ask then you should mention it. And I can't stress enough, make sure it's UNLOADED all the way. Not one bullet, not two bullets, ZERO bullets in it.

I can guarantee you that you do not want to be carrying a gun in your carry-on bag.
