Remove the CM's they will never look as good as they should. Replace with sweet bay magnolias, do I would put 5 lorapedulums in place of the azaleas and Indian hawthorn, then put either some verigated lariupe or dwarf mondo grass on the corners around sweet bay magnolias

The CM's have to go, they are just too close to the house. I would remove the extra IH on the right, build the beds out on the ends to give a freeform look and get the trees away from the house. Plant a sweet olive on either side with shishi sasanquas around the base.

Thanks guys I appreciate the advice.
I guess I'm going to give it a shot and try to remove the CM trees and the IH on the right. The magnolia and sweet olive trees look like they'd be a nice replacement. I'm going to go to my local nursery and see what they think would be best.
I'll update y'all in a few weeks after I get things worked out.

I would personally pay some attention to the whole mess for a year and try to shape it up....
the crepe myrtles are absolutely too close to the house, but could be managed with a couple of trimmings during each summer...
as for the other plants, I would just put in some contrasting (lighter), shorter plants along the front to give it some interest...maybe some lariope or something like that....either a solid row or patches in between the larger plants would do...

I would really like to know what kind of tree that is also. Like it a lot.
