I'm not trying to be nit-picky, but he grew op in a small, isolated town. I only point that out because Aberdeen is a dark, grimy, shite hole of a town, and I've always felt that it comes through in his music.
It sure is. My wife and her family are from Grays Harbor County, specifically Montesano (which is a great little town btw). My wife and I live in Olympia.
I watched MoH last night on demand.
One of the things that really stood out was the animation, of Cobain in Aberdeen and Oly. How dark, gritty, moody these places really are. How the animators nailed the look of both cities, the houses, the atmosphere. Aberdeen is a gigantic shithole (which some are trying to clean up but it's still meth/heroin infested). I used to work about 100 yards away from Cobain's place in Olympia although the house in the animation sequence is different, it most definitely captures the feel.
Disappointed with no Grohl material, heck, even Buzz would of been good to have considering the enormous influence he and The Melvins had on Cobain and Krist in both Aberdeen, Montesano and Oly. Thoroughly enjoyed the documentary other than the abrupt ending and I understand that there is really nothing left to rehash regarding his actual death (his suicide note, Marty Reimer reporting his death, etc. etc.)

I thought the animation was fantastic. I live in Tacoma, so I'm no stranger to dark and gritty, and I agree, they captured it well.

Isn't it a fourplex? I've been by a house in Oly that my friend claimed was it.
