The purpose of seeding any contest, basketball, football, mumblety-peg or whatever else, is to grant more deserving entrants a better chance to advance and win than those less deserving. If Kentucky goes undefeated, they will be the number one seed and play the winner of the play-in game, which will be the sixty-fourth seed.
Lunardi or the selection committee can use whatever method(s) he or they consider appropriate, but the fact remains that if a team is seeded 10th in its region and there are four reasons, then whomever is doing the rankings thinks there are 36 better, or more deserving, teams.
Are they better? Who knows? That's why they play the games. But the opinion(s) have to be based on something and resumes are the best anyone's come up with.
BUT IT'S THE SAME THING!
