6/2(3) is the same as 6 divided by 2 times 3

Working from left to right (PEDMAS) it would be:

6/2 = 3 x 3 = 9

2(3) is not the P in PEDMAS... it's M as in multiply.

Everyone saying the answer is 1 is retarded.

The way it is written is a very common way to write a math problem.

2(2+1) is very common, more common than 2x(2+1) as math professors do not like to use "x" as a form of multiplication in a problem because "x" is also the most common way to write as a variable.
