The biggest loss is other teams could have contact with recruits during the dead period and we can't. And that is before national signing day, I could see us losing a recruit that's torn between us and another school due to these sanctions.

That is not accurate. The only thing we lose is the ability to have unlimited contact with a recruit that has signed a FAA but not a Letter of Intent. No other school can have more contact than LSU unless the recruit signs a FAA with them. We don't lose any scholarships or the ability to contact kids in any appropriate way just like any other school. It's essentially a slap on the wrist. The absurd part is that there is any sanction at all for what LSU did.
