Those METERS shows I saw between 89 and 93 or so, before Leo split, at Tip's. Drunk, stoned, and sweaty (no A/C), everybody gettin' the f*ck down. Russell was no Zigaboo but damn were they funky. Still have some bootleg tapes of those shows that I break out during mardi gras and jazzfest. Then Stoltz replaced Leo and the magic sort of died for me...
Bill Monroe at the HOB in 95 I think it was. Just wanted to see a legend that was not long for this world. He played great and even had enough energy to do a little bit of his signature buck dancing. Less then a year later he was gone...

seen a lot of great one's but that Mule Deepest End show in '03 is hard to forget.
