Joan and Don have a friendly relationship between one another. Remember when they had a deep/drunken conversation after going to the Jaguar dealership. Don knows [to some degree] not to cross Joan. I for one, have never wanted to see them hook up. Not to mention, Joan has enough on her plate dealing with Rogar.

Cosgrove is probably the only one happy with his personal life at this stage. I don't think he thinks he's above the "business". But he seems pretty apathetic at the idea of losing a client. Remember the whole Heinz Ketchup & Baked Beans controversy. He doesn't mind losing a client because "They come and go" [paraphrasing]

Don is far from the worst person in the world and people over use that term when trying to dissect his character.
