Most albums sold =/= best album.
Looking at the rest of the nominees, I can see why Morning Phase won - it's actual music, not just a computer generated beat with some idiot behind the mic spitting bullshite that was written by someone else. Beck wrote, directed, produced, and played most of the instruments on the album - so this is a no brainer for me.
What disturbs me the most is that a Tenacious D cover won best metal performance over bands that actually wrote and played their songs. I thought for sure that Mastodon was going to win that award, and would have loved to see them on stage like this:
