I live in NY and love the fishing here.
In addition to slaying steelhead, salmon, and brown trout I can hit most any warm water fish found in the lakes/streams of the south. The deer seem to be much bigger than anything I hunted in the south too.
The snow doesn't bother me - slows everything down. It's also nice to experience actual seasons rather than just go from boiling hot summers to wet and cool winters.

I love that about snow. It slows life to the pace it was meant to be. I wish we would get a good snow, just like 4-6 inches would be great
