The phrase "single mother" used to annoy me as the usage was intentionally ambiguous, meant to blur the line between "divorced" mother and "never married" mother

But now that nobody gives a shite about unmarried mothers - - 80% of all black mothers are unmarried -- it's just another example of archaic morality
