but it is an element of team strategy in a game that doesn't run on it. baseball is still a game of individual players making plays regardless.

If this rule change is put into place, no one will care within two years. It'll just be part of the game.

Baseball fans get too crazy over rule changes. The league is trying to be progressive and make the game more watchable for younger fans. Not the 60 year-olds who are going to watch regardless.
