Absolutely not. We are an elite program and should compete for championships every few years. That is a reasonable expectation. Expectations should be high heading into next season, given what we should return. If Miles goes 8-4 both of the next 2 years.. then that is 3 straight years.. at that point, I would be concerned that he doesn't have it anymore and a change might be necessary.
You see, this is where it gets tricky. How do you fire a guy for going 8-4 or 9-3? With the body of work Miles has? Especially if those records and being in the SEC west keeps you in the top 25?
I think there is more of a chance that Les hovers around 8-4, 9-3 than there is of him winning another NC or going 6-6.
Many of the guys that are pretty vocal on here defending Les' winning pct and such all have said that going 4 or 5 years without winning the SEC or the west is where they draw the line.
There are always going to be idiots that want him fired every time he loses a game and guys that kiss his arse and make excuses when he shits the bed. It's the in between i'm interested in. Aside from from the past and his body of work what is really expected moving forward?
Those same arguments about career winning pct, winningest coach, runs a clean program, good family man, great recruiter, OOC record, can still apply and him continually be 8-4/9-3 range moving forward.
