It will be very disappointing if we don't make the NCAA field this year. The SEC is not strong and will not receive any additional consideration for invites. LSU can't afford to give the panel an opportunity to exclude them.

We need to take care of business against the lesser talented teams while having strong showings against the few strong teams. (Kentucky)

Most of our games are televised so we have an opportunity to be recognized. We need to win these four remaining OOC games and get off to a fast start in conference play. I hope we can pack the PMAC and make a few highlights in the national media.

I think we have a good shot at making the NCAA. I definitely have more hopes for this squad than any others in recent years.

Really need to make NCAA's this year, SEC will not stay this weak (after first few teams) forever and if we stay healthy should be no less. Also be great to make it with momentum coming in next year. Know we are never going to be UK of basketball but lets get back to where the weaker schools in conf stay below us every year.

And this might be why the committee only takes 4 of the 14. WIll LSU be one of them? I say 50/50.

As an avid LSU basketball supporter for the last 25-27 years, disappointment has become the theme and par for the course. Starting with the '86 team coming down with Chicken Pox after a 13-0 start (that would all work out just fine thanks to the PMAC ); losing Tito Horford before the second game in '87; Nikita Wilson's academic eligibility; John Williams's early exit; Stanley Roberts, Harold Boudreaux, and Mo Williamson having to Prop 48 in '88-89; a wave of '88-'92 players leaving too early; The Randy Livingston knee situation; Dale Brown escalating the '92 SECt game with UT and Shaq and Carlus Groves -- costing Shaq the next day; Lester Earl fiasco; losing Lamont Roland to injury in early '01; Big baby and Tyrus playing basically intoxicated in Indianapolis in '06; John Brady coaching horrible BIG games in the tourney; Trent Johnson; only having Randolph for 1 year; players in recent years transferring -- you could do a Billy Joel "We Didn't Start the Fire" song with all this.

All that historical fluff said, this team looks to be as strong as a 7 NCAA seed and as weak as a travelling NIT team.
