Dumb argument.

Brees's contract has not stopped the team from putting a ton of money into the offensive line or the defense.

Evans and Grubbs are paid in the top-5 for their position.

Byrd is the 2nd highest paid safety.

Galette got paid. Lofton got paid. Hawthorne got paid. Bunkley got paid. Lewis got paid

Compared to those guys (minus Lewis), Drew is the one whose contract looks the best based on his performance. If you put the stone footed Tom Brady or Peyton Manning behind this line and with this shitty of a defense, you would be looking at a much worse season.

Now shut up.

It's not an argument. It is just a fact. Drew worked his arse of to become a HOF QB and Super Bowl winner. His reward for that was a big contract and financial security for many generations.

Now, as has happened many times after the huge payday, his performance has declined. Maybe it's age, maybe it's better defense, maybe it's Drew just easing back a bit, but the truth is it is happening now. Maybe he just isn't as hungry as he was before.

That, and the Front Office making bad/unlucky decisions, has let the Saints window on another Super Bowl quickly close.
