This is just meaningless bs. Are you suggesting that we can't address the guard position in FA or in the 2nd, 3rd, or even 1st round? What is your suggestion here? You brought up their contracts for years down the road, and i brought up how we can get out of them this year.

Yeah, ok. We DO address it in FA and in the draft. It just doesn't fricking work. I don't give a shite that Grubbs made the Pro-bowl last year (or maybe it was the year before), my eyes tell me he's not that good. And every year we draft OLinmen. Doesn't mean the problem is solved. We happened to strike gold with Evans and Nicks earlier I their careers and got overachievement from the tackles and centers during that time.

He's 5th in pass rushing productivity. He has 7 sacks, 12 hits, and 37 hurries Last year, he had 12 sacks, 12 hits, and 34 hurries. He's causing more pressure than last year. He's the only one causing consistent pressure. Wow is really all I can say if you think he's been a problem or fallen off this year

How many times did you hear his name called today?

He got paid the amount of money that a perennial pro-bowler would make. He's not that. And he got paid that contract a year early.

Ok? What does that have to do with the front office making the decision?

Ok fine. The front office made the decision (I don't even know what you're arguing there). It was the wrong decision. If he was traded to make room for Jairus Byrd, then it was the wrong decision...so far. Maybe Byrd and his bad back will be all-world in the next couple of years. But I was under the impression that this team was going to contend for a championship THIS year. I was certainly glad that the team made a move at the safety position in the offseason. But I thought they paid too much for him at the time and that was before I knew he was damaged goods.

What? Evans is the 3rd worst pass blocking guard in the NFL this season. We haven't had to address guard but once in a long, long time. A fresh left guard could not do worse in pass blocking than what Jahri has done this year. It is widely considered one of the easiest transitions from college to the NFL too, and a cheap position to fill in FA.

I'm not sure how one could reasonably say we DO address it in FA and draft. We haven't had to outside of Grubbs who's been serviceable to good in his time here.

You brought up how they're eating up cap from year's to come. Their contracts allow for us to get out of that. We're not keeping Evans for this production

Seriously? Must mean he's having a terrible year then.

Try to keep up. I'm arguing that we chose other players over him and it had little to nothing to do with Drew's contract.

It was the wrong decision.

I don't disagree. That wasn't your argument though.
