Cooks is great. But he wouldn't have been used correctly here. He gets the ball between the tackles, but for the most part FSU spreads it out and gives him the ball in space and passes out of the backfield. FSUs "power" RB is not playing tonight so Cooks is getting all the reps. But they have an offensive scheme that plays to his strengths and they are using him the right way.

We would have used him the same way we have used LF, Hill, Magee, Ridley, Keiland, Scott, etc. We use all our RBs the same, regardless of their skill set (and Les alwyas gets guys with a certain skill set.... Power down hill runners). The way Les uses a scat back is how we used Michael Ford, which is extremely predictable.

And go look at our track record with scat backs.... we have had all purpose / scat back types of RBs with Les and have had little to no success. If we ran a diff style of offense, including last years offense, I would agree. But we don't run that much to the outside or get our RBs involved in the passing game. We use them between the tackles and do it a lot. If you can't do that for us in the SEC, you won't play. That simple.
