Not sure why you're waiting on the app store, but for most basic functions (email, calendar, contacts, music, etc.) the apps are quite good. For example, I really like Xbox music. Obviously it depends on which apps you're interested in, and of course, there's the "you can run any software that you run on a PC" consideration.

So the entire Windows Software catalog isn't good enough for you ?
