This happened to my brother, too. A wet shell didn't fully clear the barrel and his second shot exploded out of the side of the barrel just forward of the forestock, which was 2 feet from my head. My ears rang for weeks and he's lucky he didnt lose his hand and I didn't get a face full of bbs. The hole was huge and peeled back.

Hevi Shot must be freaking out right now. It's hard to notice a defected shell being shot when it's your first of 2-3 shots on a flock of ducks, with all of the excitement going on.
