Anytime your workout will include explosive movements you shouldn't perform static stretches beforehand. It causes your muscles to lose elasticity (temporarily) and therefore reduce strength and explosiveness and increase risk of injury due to decreased muscle support at the joints.

Yep, very simple. Just warm up before you do any stretching to be safe. For example before lifting weights for legs I run on a tread mill or ride a bike for 10 minutes and then I stretch, then I lift weights, and then I stretch again. Time to go home.

Funny that this bothers anyone enough to cause them to make a post ranting about it. I never pay attention to how others are working out unless they're doing something really weird or making excessive noise. Then I pay attention for a couple minutes for the entertainment value.

My dumbbell and barbell bench reps only go down about half or just below - 2 shoulder surgeries in my life means i do what I want to stay safe and idgaf what some weirdo thinks who is checking me out rather than focusing on his workout.
