Last year all the talk on here was how great Cam was at working with Mett and developing quarterbacks. Did he suddenly forget how?

I think Mett was so good and had worked under different programs to develop. Remember for the majority of 2012 he was terrible. He put in the work with OBJ and JL and they became good. But you have to see through the numbers. He was only throwing it too OBJ or JL, he was locked in, he didn't make many progressions. The TE has been non-existant for almost a decade, which is troubling given the prolific rise of TEs in the Pro game, the same Pro game our OC came from and offensive style we run. JL and OBJ were just too good to be shut down.
I get the argument that all the skill players are young, and kudos to Grimes and his boys, they are really coming along, Pocic will be a 1st rd talent. But I feel like the argument is moot because we have had experienced teams marred with the same problems.
Eventually our guys are gonna be juniors or possibly seniors and we will overwhelm them with talent, but again, overwhelming with talent means lackluster coaching and poor development especially if we keep making the same mistakes that we make every single year in the Les Miles tenure. We have had the same problems under different OCs and experienced/non experienced QBs and players. That trend points to one man an it's Les.
