Maybe convenient, but it was a great ending.
Again, bullshite writing.
If she has days or weeks to live and given that she has been briefed on Brand's situation and how time moves on her planet.
Cooper had all the time in the world to spend with his daughter in her dying days.
FURTHER, Brand was taking the big nap. Since she believed she would be the caretaker of all the eggs (you know humanity's future) so she wasn't going anywhere.
A couple of weeks would have made ZERO difference.

She wanted to see him, one last time (we all would possess that instinct, I think), but had no desire to have him sit and watch her die. She explicitly rejected that. She also pushed him towards Brand because Brand was alone - she had "her" family, as she also explicitly expressed.
Y'all are shooting holes in the writing, but it does not have to be this masterful, Lost-esque web of complexity that gets lost up its own arse. People were confused with Inception's story, which was more complex than Interstellar's but he didn't hide the ball, from a narrative standpoint except that ultimate question at the very end. And Memento gets slammed for being complex - and it isn't from a writing standpoint, but merely from the POV it is presented, precisely because that was the whole point.
The writing on this film was excellent. This screenplay will be nominated for major awards. This film will end up highly decorated, rightly so.
