tell that to the family whose daughter was murdered on bourbon st. or the bartender murdered by 3 teens, or all of the people who've been shot, held up and/or beaten in the FQ

How about all the people that's happened to not in the Quarter? Guess we should just vacate the whole city.

This is actually NOLA's biggest problem...it is always dismissed, overlooked, "shouldn't have", etc.

I've never seen such city wide denial. I was walking into st. Louis cathedral this weekend for a wedding. 5 ft from the door "hey ****, take off that bow tie and gets you some pussy" it's a shithole, has some very upscale places, but it's a shithole

I'm not dismissing it. I'm just saying it's rather easy to avoid for the most part. There will always be outliers, like the guy that got mugged in broad daylight. But for the most part, it's not hard to keep yourself out of those situations.

This is not me blaming the victim or giving a pass to the tPOSs.

Not every person in the military, who goes to Afghanistan, gets blown away by a roadside bomb, but I'm still not gonna enlist...

I've witnessed 3 muggings, 2 shootings, I've been held up...when it happens and you see it. If you're the victim or not, it happened...more than just the direct victims think it's dangerous...I'm not saying it's like hanging out in central city, but it's the biggest money maker NOLA has, the centerpiece of tourism...should be the rarest occurrence ever.

I've said my piece. don't live there anymore, not my problem
