I want to troll the bridges also. I have a theory that I want to test. I think the trap needs to be near the bottom and that is why the slow speeds and or lead core lines. I put two downriggers on my bayboat and think I can troll faster and the riggers will keep the traps on the bottom thus eliminating the need for a drift sock, kicker motor, 5 gallon buckets, etc. And when you go that slow with a drift sock out the boat seems to meander all over the place and you have to really pay attention. not conducive to a relaxing troll on the train.

boat will be out of the shop in a week or so.
