I think he was meaning that Rettig was a pro-style QB, not an experienced QB. In other words, why did we let two pro-style QB's get away if we were going to keep trying to run the I-formation/pro-set offense.

Because we couldn't offer them more money in the offseason?
Kids are going to do what kids want to do. Miles couldn't imprison the two and keep them from moving on.
