Graduated in 1987 (long arse time ago) and had $0 thanks to mom and dad. I ran the numbers one day and figured they spent around 25K on everything college for me.

My wife had about 6K when we married. It pissed my dad off because he wanted nothing like that for me. We paid them off in about 4 years.

My daughter is going to school out of state and has an 18K a year scholarship. Unfortunately the out of state tuition fee is 21K a year. She incurred 3K her first year and is working to not barrow any her second year.

Student loans are evil. I empathize with those who have to deal with them.

You think student loans are evil and empathize those who have to deal with them, but you won't pay 3k dollars for your own daughter to go to college?
