My take, Les didn't want to ruin this one. He was trying to bring him along slow. He hoped that Jennings would be able to suffice until Harris was ready. It didn't quite work out.

Les did us wrong by not starting Harris. He just looks so much faster than Jennings on qb run plays and Harris' ability to spread the ball is pretty amazing for a true freshman.
