No, really. Its only a big deal in third world countries where medical care is non-existent. The same outbreak in the USA wouldn't be nearly as bad due to our medical system and Ebola when treated isn't as deadly as people think.
It is the absolute certainty of your statement that makes me feel uneasy. I've found in life that often it is the gateway to catastrophe. For instance, when they wheeled the big horse into the gates of Troy, the Trojan experts said with absolute certainty, "We've whipped them Greeks!"

I think about the law of unintended consequences
I think about "Typhoid Mary"
I think about (and question) the competence of people actually in charge of health departments and health centers and especially clinics and ERs - like the ones in Dallas who gave the Ebola patient antibiotics, and sent him home - even when they knew he'd been to Liberia (and was in fact, a Liberian national)
I remember the assurances we and our parents were given by government officials back in the 1950s, that the "Duck and Cover" exercises would keep us mostly safe from an atomic attack - Watch this Bert the Turtle cartoon.

And I get a little bit uneasy, despite the assurances I read from the "experts" on message boards for LSU football/politics/OT, etc.
