It depends on where the money is going. I donated the last couple of years to a couple different organizations. One gave the city of Atlanta a check for 50,000 to create a special training program and eventually a division of the police force that is specifically trained to battle sex trafficking. I actually saw the check handed over.
The other was an organization that created safe houses for children that are rescued from slavery. Provides them a home with a bed, clothes, food, etc....
Money can make a lot of difference if you know where it's going. You're just hell bent on being a cynical know it all.
