Seven weeks, but I agree even that seemingly short period of time can see many ups and downs in many of these races. Polls have seen roller-coaster type results from week to week, so it will depend on which candidates are "ebbing" and which are "flowing" come November 4th. One bad gaffe, one great commercial, one October Surprise in either direction, even if not a major one - all of those things can change who controls the Senate, and all of its committees, come January 3rd.
