I'll also add that Oregon was pretty awesome that year with Dennis Dixon. They probably win the title that year if he doesn't blow his knee out.

Michigan had mike hart, jake long, chad henne, Mario manningham, lamar Woodley, and maybe Braylon Edwards (I think he was an 07 draft pick)

how they imploded is still beyond me

I went to that Oregon/Mich game when I was in HS, but dude was fun to watch. He and J. Stewart were my favorites on that Ducks team. Also, that was Chip Kelly's first year at Oregon (now how things have changed since then )

That's the greatest "what if" of that season. As much as I loved Mizzou's run to #1, I think Oregon would have won the title that year if Dixon remained healthy. They were peaking at the right time and they had a solid defense that year, unlike many of the teams in the past few years. They held USC to 17 points and a talented Michigan team to 7 points in Ann Arbor.
