re: Why does LSU use the toss to exchange the ball from QB to the RB?

It allows the runner to get the ball faster, he can see the whole developing much quicker, and he can decide if he needs to make a cut sooner rather than later. This isn't a LSU thing some college programs and NFL teams use the same play and it works most of the time.
