Why did the feminist cross the road?
Pretty sure it was because she wanted to come tell me how my husband oppresses me by supporting my choice to stay home, take care of our house and kids, and work to turn a home craft into a small business without the unnecessary burden of "job lock".
She would probably tell me I suffer from Stockholm syndrome. She would likely think I'm not a good role model for young women because I didn't park my kids in daycare while I pursued a "career". She would scoff at the notion that I actually enjoy doing things to make my husband happy because she wouldn't understand that our marriage is amazing because we value each others happiness. I bet she would hate my "submissive" approach to large purchases - never mind that its a practical position rather than submissive.
If feminism were still about equality -I'd support it.
If feminism valued women who chose to pursue traditional roles as much as women who chose to work- I'd support it.
I don't think all feminists would hate me for my choices. I think if Camille Paglia crossed the road it would be to come hangout in my kitchen and have coffee. We would probably get along just fine.

I agree with all of this. There is nothing wrong with being a stay at home mother.
I work because I have to. But I can still come home and cook dinner and not act like the world is ending.
