Yes. Always. Do not ever rub your eyes. Tugging at your eyelid to stimulate tearing is fine. The scleral rub I explained in my other post is also very effective. But don't ever rub your eyes. If there's something under your eyelid, you can scratch your cornea quite easily. As lsunurse explained, it doesn't feel good.

Yup and then I was subjected to my husband talking like a pirate for an entire day to me because of the homemade eye patch I had made to try and rest my eye.
