I always recommend flushing with solution or using rewetting drops before taking them out in this case. Taking out a dry lens can be wildly painful. I'm fortunate to have never abraised my cornea. I feel for you.

Yeah I def should have done that. It felt like the contact was duct tape and my eyeball was skin and I "ripped" it off.
