Seriously, there's some frames out there for guys that don't look too bad. If you're opposed to those you could always look into LASIK. I'm having that done in October.

Jet my husband is the same way.
He is blind as a bat without glasses/contacts. He hates me seeing pictures of him as a kid before he got contacts because his eyesight was so bad that he had some serious coke bottle glasses as a kid and was teased a lot at school about it.
I don't know why he hasn't gotten LASIK yet.

If he's 32 and had recent severe visual decline (claims 20/15 in the past, now is bad enough to require correction), he's likely a very poor candidate for LASIK at present time.
