If you go early enough, you could hit the Museum District and or Hermann Park/The Zoo, which also is right off Main St and the light rail. Museum/Zoo right to NRG would be easy if done properly. Also what others said about the LSU Tailgate at the Reliant Center, right next to NRG and A/C.
