re: Buying a car in Texas but I live in Louisiana

Bought 2 new cars in Texas. Sales tax based on your home address. Dealer sent paperwork to DMV in LA. Just make sure the TX dealer sends it to the correct LA DMV location. Dealer sent it to a LA DMV that did not handle registrations. so it got sent back to dealer TWICE! I was past due by the time I figured out where my paperwork was and got hit with late fees when I was finally able to register it
