You can't really say that with any confidence, though. That's why I referred to it as an open question. We can tout SM-3 tests and China can tout DF-21 tests, but at the end of the day those are just tests against "red team" missiles; neither of us can adequately simulate the other and we both have every incentive to hype the results.

With laser and "rail gun" technology.....I am very confident. The fact that we know about this tech is scary. Deep Blue was 1971 or there abouts. We found out about it in the 90s.
