True, but there are also parents who don't "guilt" their children into such things.

Thanks to Uncle Sam, we have spent a lot of time away...and there is a lot that I have missed - like the death of two grandparents; nephews/nieces; and a lot of other things. Not that I am complaining, though, because so much good has also come out of it. It's just that there have been a lot of things missed that won't be repeated.

I am not saying that he should/shouldn't do anything. If those are important factors in his life, then it is something to think about.

Exactly. Not everyone is guilted by their parents. Some people actually enjoy living close to family members. If it's something that you enjoy, is that ok?
