honestly, in algebra (and all maths above that), there is just a certain amount of it that you have to just accept...you are not gonna always understand the theory and origin....
just learn the rules on how to manupulate equations well and using them will not be bad at all....

yep, and retaining that information. In Algebra, it's all eventually going to be applied at a later time and is going to be stacked on top of everything else. It's just a building up process.
