That quote represents what both Rand and his father represent and it's what I admire about them. And it's why I've said Rand will never win the nomination. Unless of course he sells out. And the nomination for the Republican Party candidate has proven to be impossible for an outsider to win. The comments here against his quote will be what he hears from the mainstream of the party.
What would be interesting is if he ran as a 3rd party candidate and did so early on organizing on all 50 states. My guess is he'd get a sizable following. The problem he'd face is his backers are not geographic like Wallace for instance which allowed him to carry states but instead like Perot where he'd get a good percentage but not necessarily carry states.
