I have no idea what he said or did nor do you.
I do know he was transporting firearms in an illegal manner for the state he was in. Left these firearms in an unattended vehicle for a length of time which while not illegal is not a good idea. He then entered a country where he was a frequent visitor and knew the guns were illegal and was arrested. He also lied to the Mexican authorities about entering the country previously. The fact is if he would have been caught in CA he most likely would have been locked up as well. The man committed a crime and was arrested. Why would he deserve preferential treatment for being a marine reservist? By the way if I tried to enter the US with contraband I would be cuffed and stuffed whether I told them I had it or not.
