Asked why the emails not captured by built in microsoft software.

wut? Which built in software is that? Does it provide an enterprise storage solution with replication and dr duplication for 3+ years worth of email for 90,000 employees? I suspect the contract didn't cover a long retention period which is why they told employees to store relevant emails locally as PST files.

I'm sure most of the hard hitting emails were on personal gmail accounts and not on the governments email system. That's what they do at the state level.

frick 'em, though.

What a coincidence that 2.5% of employees hard drives fail and there were 6 people implicated in this scandal that fell into that 2.5%.

Holy smokes..... Lots of coincidences.

By law every single call, text and email made by any citizen in the US has to be saved for YEARS by private companies so it's not outrageous to expect the IRS to save theirs. I mean, if these were sent thru a private ISP they would have to be saved by law. Dems and Republicans are both corrupt, just admit your side is and stop being an idiot.
